What kind of information am I allowed to post related to my work on social media?

  • Confidentiality: Avoid sharing confidential information about your company, colleagues, or customers. This includes client lists, nonpublic financials, business strategies, legal matters, and marketing and sales plans. 
  • Respect: Avoid discriminatory or harassing posts, including statements and slurs about race, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and gender. 
  • Company reputation: Be careful not to post damaging comments about the company. 
  • Copyright: Only post items that you have the legal right to reproduce, adapt, display, and distribute. 
  • Attribution: Accurately attribute material that is not your own, including quotes and images. 
  • Your views: Make it clear that your views are your own and not the company's. 
  • Company social media: Share company social media posts, events, and stories. 
  • Harassment: Report harassment you've experienced or noticed. 
  • Trolls: Avoid engaging with trolls or negative comments. 
  • Manager: If you're unsure about whether a topic is appropriate, speak with your team leader.

Should I include my company info in my social media bio? Or should I keep my company accounts and my personal accounts separate?

The choice is up to you. Be honest about your priorities, goals, and available energy before you decide if you want to create separate or personal accounts.


PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY REMINDERS

Whether or not you choose to disclose your workplace on social media, please respect the privacy and confidentiality of sensitive information pertaining to DUFFLE STREETWEAR when posting to any social networking sites.

  • Report and remove any comments deemed sexist, racist, ableist, ageist, homophobic, or hateful to any group or person 
  • Make text accessible, using plain language and accessible to people learning English as a second language or those with learning disabilities
